GuideBefore you start
The Mirror guide How to step in

If you move with part of your body switched off, set that first at Accessibility and choose your reference body while you are there, because the Mirror reads only what you leave switched on.

When you tap Step in, that tap is what starts your camera, and nothing starts before it.

Stand where the camera sees your whole body, with room to move, and keep your shoulders, hips, and legs in the picture, because those are what the Mirror finds you by. Locking on takes a moment, because it has to see you clearly a few times in a row first.

Once it is following you, the reads take a few seconds to settle, and then you can move.

What to expect

A Mirror session follows one mover at a time, the first person it locks onto, and the body on the stage and the reads on the screen belong to that mover from there on.

Friends can watch while you move, and when your session ends, the next person steps in and starts a session of their own.

If someone else comes into the camera's view while you move, the Mirror stays with its mover, and the body on the stage and the reads on screen stay with the first mover too, while the second person is not followed, drawn, or read, and the session sheet at the end carries the mover only.

While you move, your movement is drawn back to you on the stage with the session's reads beside it, the points being tracked, your joint angles, your speed against your own peak, and the load through your joints, and the More panel in a session labels which of those reads are measured and which are modeled.

A session runs until you end it, and Finish in the session bar is what brings up your session sheet.

The sheet is a demonstration, made on this device and stamped as one, and it is not a record, and nothing from your session is kept, so when the session ends the sheet ends with it unless you save or share a copy from the sheet itself.

Below the doorway, the movement chains under the choreography explain the body you are watching, laying out which joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves each movement runs through.

Why the Mirror

The Mirror is a public demonstration of the KINEX Lens, the capture instrument behind the Record Room.

It is here so that anyone can feel how KINEX reads a moving body on their own device, with nothing taken and nothing stored.

Records are made by the Lens and kept in the Vault, and the Mirror makes none of them.

At the end you can save the session sheet, made on this device. Nothing else leaves it.
